My husband and I are trying to find the simplest way to get from Milan to Orta San Giulio. If we took a train to Stresa, will there by a bus to Orta? We will be traveling on September 8, 2019.

The train with a change at Novara is the easiest, IMO. I’ve done that trip by train, had no issues at all. I looked for buses but the schedule is seasonal and seemed more complicated to me. It probably isn’t hard, in the summer at least, but the train was simple.

Just a heads up...if you plan to leave by train buy your ticket ahead in Milano is there is not a ticket booth in Orta San Giulio.
