Train or bus from Isernia, Rome or Boiano to Amalfi Coast???

Hello,

My son is traveling with us to Molise to stay there a few days. Then him and wife would like to go the Amalfi coast. What would be the best way to get there without a car? We are staying in Molise for a few night then going to Rome. Would it make sense for them to go back to Rome or try to leave from Boiano or Isernia? They are flying in and out of Rome.

Thank you,

There is a morning train, connecting in Caserta to Salerno, then boat or bus from there. Returning to Rome is a train from Salerno.
