I know you can go from Munich to either of these by train. I read there is a night train as well. Anyone have experience with these routes and options? I will be traveling mid-May from Munich and returning to Munich. Are some sights better for booking options?
I believe these trains are operated by Nightjet, a division of OEBB, the Austrian National Railway.

I suggest booking directly with the train operator given in the previous post. We've done this twice in a sleeper car, the romance of night travel on trains and all that. The first time things were great although a bit hard to sleep; the train goes thru a lot of intersections and the light flashes in the cabin a bit even with the shades pulled. We learned to bring a sleep mask in the future. The second time the A/C in our cabin did not work so our alternatives were to swelter (trains get quite toasty sitting in the sun all day) or crack the window and listen to the wind blast. So not a fun trip.
YMMV
Thank you for the information. Trains can be a romantic time or just an "adventure".
One of the things I would consider is that the trip through the Alps can be beautiful. On the other hand overnight on the train means you save a day on accommodations.
