We need to take the train from Venice to C.T. in September. I have checked out www.trenitalia and was not able to figure out how to do this. Do you ask for Venice-Florence, then La Spezia to Vernazza? Any help would be appreciated.

Try using "Venezia" in place of venice. If you put in vernazza to venezia it should give you you options

If you are on the English page, you can type in Venice or Venezia and Vernazza. Not a problem. If you are on the Italian page, you will need to type Venezia. Also, you want the origination station to be Venezia Santa Lucia. Also, September is a bit far out to be checking schedules on Trenitalia. They may not be accurate. Check no more than 60 days out for current schedules. The schedules will be updated during the year but they don't change much. You can expect 2-3 train changes for the journey as the CT is a bit out of the way. Most runs will go through Florence but a few go through Milan. It doesn't really matter. It's about the same for travel time.

Hi Patricia, I have decided when we are in Venice and booking our train tickets to Lake Como, to follow Rick's advice and go to Kile and Teo Viaggie Turiosmo somewhere near St. Mark's Square and buy our train tickets from them. You can google them and find out their correct address. The trenitilia site is confusing and maybe dealing with humanbeings will be a lot easier, we can only hope. Good luck.
