Train from Venice to Lyon

Has anyone traveled by train during the daylight hours from Venice to Lyon, France, through Milan and Chambery? How are the long hours on the train? How is the scenery? This will be our first time to this route. We've ridden the Eurostar before. Are they similar? Thanks in advance.

This used to be a run on the Artesia train which has been discontinued. The replacement service is called the TGV International. It runs from Paris to Torino to Milan Porta Garibaldi. This is not Milan-Centrale. It does not go to Venice. What it appears that you must now do is book the run on www.tgv-europe.com from Venice Santa Lucia to Lyon Part Dieu. You can do this online. The trip will take 10hrs. It does go through Chambery. You train from Venice will go to Milan-Centrale where you will have to get across the city to the Milan-Garibaldi train station. There, you will board the TGV International train. It looks like you will change trains again in Torino. The runs I see show 2-4 train changes depending on the run. The train departs Venice at 7:50 and you arrive in Lyon at 17:10. I see a fare of 120E with a special fare of 98E.
