On the trenitalia (Italian trains) website, checking out trains from Venice to Florence, I can't seem to find the correct stations or something. I can't seem to get to a schedule. Does anyone know what to put in the departure and arrival boxes?

This site will give you some basic overview about these trains.
You must use the Italian names
Venezia S Lucia
S M Novella-Firenze

Maninseat61.com has all train info, read his Italy page
Italiarail is a reseller that won’t likely have all your train options for sale
Purchase from the actual Trenitalia site
I'd be quite worried if I were planning a trip abroad with a travel guide that doesn't mention the names of the train stations of Venice and Florence. Or the actual names of the cities you'll see on monitors and boards inside those stations.
Anyway, ignore re-sellers and follow the great instructions by Christine. In addition, you must put a day of travel before June 11.
The Venice-Florence route is served also by Italotreno's high speed trains. Not faster than Trenitalia's, but often cheaper.
I would like to point out that I did not tell the OP to purchase from Italiarail, only to use it as a source of information. When a person needs a little background ( like the names of the stations or typical routings) such a site can be helpful.
As the others have mentioned, you'll be travelling from Venezia Santa Lucia to Firenze S.M. Novella stations. You can use either the Freccia (Trenitalia) or Italo fast trains. There are a few trains with one change so be sure to choose one of the direct trains. Travel time is 2H:13M. Note that both trains have compulsory seat reservations, which will be provided with your ticket. You must sit in the seat assignment listed on your ticket.
For accurate schedule information and ticket prices, check the https://www.trenitalia.com/ or https://www.italotreno.it/en websites. I often buy tickets from Trainline as they sell tickets for both Italian rail networks, in addition to others all over Europe (there may be a small surcharge but I don't find that to be a problem).
