Train from Venice to Bolzano

Best way by train from Venice to Bolzano...some suggest Venice to Verona and then on to Bolzano, as this would be cheaper. I wouldn't mind a little longer trip for a better price.

Basically, its the only way from Venice to Bolzano. There is a daily direct EC train, but it still stops in Verona. You can travel as cheap as 18.35 euro using Regionale trains that take only a little longer than Freccia or EC trains. You can also get Sparpreis advance nonrefundable ticket for the EC direct train from DB for 19 euro.
