Hello-
We need to take an overnight train from Tropea to Venice. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do we use the TrenItalia to find out tickets? We would like a sleeping car.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Yes, use Trenitalia. Not knowing your travel date, there's a night train in Aug departing Tropea at 23:30 and arriving in Roma Tiburtina at 6:30, and after a change of trains departs Roma Tibertina at 7:00 and arrives at Venezia Santa Lucia at 10:30. There's a choice of mixed, female, and male sleeping compartments, and you can reserve an entire compartment, too.
Make your reservations ASAP (used to be 3 months in advance for Trenitalia, but this may have changed), especially for any night trains!

Would you consider flying? There's an airport at La Mezia. Change planes at FCO.
