How exactly, upon arrival to Termini Station in Rome, would I walk to the Leonardo Express that will take me to Fiumicino airport?
Thanks, Linda Lou
The Leonardo express goes from binario (track) 24. Termini is well sign-posted but it is a large and busy station and where you want to be is usually the other end from where you are - allow time to navigate to the binario you need. For more detailed information check on RoninRome.com. He has whole sections on train travel, Termini and the Leonardo Express.
The platform for LE is on your far right as you face the tracks. The last platform.
Linda, This map isn't very clear but it shows the Track / Binario layout of Tracks 1 - 24 at Roma Termini: http://test3.ngway.it/sites/default/files/Plan_Gare_Roma.jpg Note that there are also Tracks 25, 26, etc. which continue several hundred metres further along the platform to the right of Track 24. That's where the Leonardo Express used to depart from. DON'T FORGET to validate your tickets prior to boarding the train on the day of travel, or you'll get a nasty surprise in the form of a hefty fine which will be collected on the spot! Happy travels!
The walk through Termini to Binario 24 is about 400 meters. The station is huge and bustling, but well marked for easy navigation. As someone stated above, validate your ticket prior to boarding to avoid a fine. The yellow validation boxes are located at the head of the track. Buon viaggio,
Thanks/Grazie! RB,Ken,Frank, & Lesley for your prompt, clear and concise directions for locating the Leonardo Express at Termini Rome! Being generous with knowledge is a gift! Linda
@RB, "The walk through Termini to Binario 24 is about 400 meters." If my memory is correct, Binario 24 is right at the front of Termini, with the majority of other tracks. Binari 25 and up require the 400 meter walk. I usually double-check the electronic board to verify which track my train will be departing from, as they can sometimes be changed at the last minute. Cheers!
This is a good method of transiting to Fiumicino. We have used this connection many times. Buon viaggio,
I am sure you can say for sure where L Express is. For several years it was 25 and 26 which was long haul along the south side of Termini. On our last trip two years it was on 24 which made for an easier hike. Will be there in Oct so we can give a update report.
Two months ago the LE was assigned to binario 24; it is the only train assigned to that track and leaves e eru half-hour. The yellow validation boxes are being replaced with green/grayish white ones.
Great info--thanks everyone for your input. Linda
