I was hoping someone could tell me if there is food for purchase on IC Train #722 from Taormina to Napoli. We are on the train departing at 9am. I am assuming there is not but hoping there is since it's such a long train ride. We also booked first class seats - I am starting to wonder if first class seats are even worth the extra cost. Thank you

I am not sure about food service on the train (if you mean a restaurant car; beverage and snack carts are on almost all IC trains). I would pick up something to eat at the train station bar and picnic on the train. The Trenitalia website has info on services.

Honestly Kelly, you are much better off flying from Catainia, which is s short train/bus trip from Taormina. Use Whichbudget and Skyscanner.cvom to find some of the lo-cost inter EU airlines that ply that route. We did the train trip, in the reverse direction...never again! Long, boring, and now I have been told that they use older trains. The lo-cost flights from Palermo or Catainia are cheap and easy. We have used them several times. Be mindful of carry-on restrictions and luggage weight limits. By all means enjoy 1st class, if you must train ride.
