Train from Stresa to Rome

Hello,
Looking to book a train from Stresa on Sat May 19 to Rome. I want to go from Stresa to Roma Termini- is this possible? I am willing to leave anytime from 6 am to 8 am from Stresa- as I am thinking the “fast” train connects at either Milano Centrale or at the Malpensa airport?? I am looking to only travel 4/5 hours arriving in Rome no later than 2pm.
Thank you

You can look it it up and buy tickets at http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en
You will change trains at Milano Centrale, but just enter your start and end points. Takes about 4 1/2 hours, so you have several possibilities.

Hello Sam,
When I put the date of May 19, 2018 in, a asterick comes up saying “solution applies to the next day” so I am unsure of what that means??

Demi, what time did you put in. You enter a date and a time and it shows trains starting from that time. It defaults to the current date and time in Italy. So if just enter a date, the time is currently t 23:00, and do not correct the time, it will show trains from 23:00, and the next train is the next day.

Demi,
As Chris has explained, make sure you change the time, after you choose the date, when searching for train schedules on the Trenitalia website.

Your journey will entail one train transfer at Milano Centrale, and the whole journey will take around 4.5 hours.

You have several options departing Stresa at: 6:21, 7:21, 8:40 & 9:40.

I traveled from Stresa to Lucca a few months ago and chose the 9:40 Euro City train mainly because I wanted to have a good breakfast at my hotel prior to the long trek :)

Enjoy your trip!

Edited to add:

Make sure you choose the right train schedule as there are train options departing Stresa at the same times as mentioned above, however, the journey will take 10+ hours!

Demi,

I just checked the Trenitalia website and there are numerous solutions listed. If you're having trouble booking there, try the www.trainline.eu website. You'll need to register first but after that it's very user friendly (they also have a smartphone app). Trainline sells tickets for both Trenitalia and Italo Treno.
