What route should we take to Cosenza from Sicily? And can you give me advise on how to book the tickets in advance?
You can find train schedules and book your tickets at www.bahn.com
Thanks so much. I will get on it right away.
Actually, you can book a train on trenitalia.com from Catania to Villa S. Giovanni. The train crosses the Strait of Messina on the famous Italian train ferry.
The suggested web site looks to be exclusively for France and Northern Europe.
What we are looking for is to book a train from Catania to Messina and then to Reggio di Calabria . Any thoughts on how to book these reservations?
If bahn.com isn't working for you, try the Italian railway website: www.trenitalia.com
As you probably noticed, there is an unbridged strait between Messina and Villa San Giovanni. On foot, without a car, the best way to travel is to get a ferry from Messina to Villa San Giovanni and, from there, a train to Reggio Calabria. You can book a train from Catania to Messina on Trenitalia. No booking/reservation is possible for the Villa San Giovanni/Reggio Calabria sector.
Thanks so much for all replies. Very helpful.
