Train from Rome to Venice on Easter Sunday

We are flying into Rome this Sunday morning, March 27 and plan to take a train to Venice Sunday afternoon for the start of our tour on Monday afternoon. The advice we received about trains was that it is not necessary to purchase tickets ahead of time, especially not knowing if our flight will be in on time. But, now that we realized this will be on Easter Sunday, in ROME - we are concerned that with the volume of people in the city for the holiday we might have trouble getting a train. Should we go ahead a reserve a train ticket? We can look for a later train to allow for our flight being late, and even be willing to lose the cost if we are really late. Do we need to be concerned about the Easter holiday?

I just checked the www.trenitalia.com website and they still have some discounted Super Economy and Economy tickets available for some afternoon trains on March 27 which would indicate that lots of seats are still available.

Most visitors to Roma for Easter will not be traveling by train on Easter Sunday, they will be attending Easter events. I think you'll be fine.
