Hello! I'm trying to book a train ticket from Rome to Venice for my family of 4 on July 28, but there are no tickets available - all options say "Travel solution temporarily not available". I checked Trenitalia and Italotreno. The same thing happened if I looked for tickets a day before or after. Two weeks earlier or later, however, tickets were available for purchase. Does this mean there are no trains available from Rome to Venice on those days? Is there something going on I should know about? Other ways to get from Rome to Venice on that day?
Thanks for any help!
Betsy
This has been discussed several times. There is a bridge replacement project in Florence that will shut the line for a few days. Expect there to be replacement buses around the construction, but scheduled closer to the shutdown date.
Temporarily means temporarily; around one month before they'll sell tickets that will include substitute buses between the 2 Florence stations.
The days the line will be closed to build the new bridge in Florence:
5 - 9 July ;
18 - 19 July (8 hours)
26 - 30 July ;
18 - 19 September (8 hours);
31 October - 1st of November (to be confirmed 12 hours)
