Anybody here done this recently? My 11 year old daughter and I have five nights at an apartment in Rome. Thinking about taking train and staying one night in Venice, then back to Rome. Then on another day taking train to Naples then change to Circumvesuviana to Pompeii for a day there. l LOVED Pompeii, really want my daughter to see it.
When I went to Venice back in 2006, I thought two nights was more than enough. Posted on another topic, but we fly to Palermo from Rome, so no extra time to spend in Southern Italy. Have been to Naples, Sorrento, Capri and Amalfi coast before. Enjoyed it, but think my daughter would be more impressed with other sites.
