Does anyone know if there is train service from Rome to Sorrento? I am not having any luck finding anything on the schedule. Thanks for any help!
You must transfer at Naples to Sorrento using the Cicumvesuviana line. It also runs from the central Naples train station - you'll take it to the end of the line to get to Sorrento. It runs frequently enough that you don't need to purchase tickets in advance. Remember to take out cash before leaving Rome, ATM's in Naples station are heavily guarded & kind of a hassle.

Joel, this is very helpful. I appreciate your response and advice! -- Diana
We took the train to Naples and decided to do the ferry from Naples to Sorrento. It was just wonderful. Ferry is about a 10 minute cab ride from the train station - cost about 12euros, Ferry was about 8euros per person. During the summer the train from Naples to Sorrento is mobbed - ferry is a calm and peaceful alternative!!
