Train from Rome to Pompei

I just went to the Trenitalia webpage to check out the schedule. I found out that all of the trains have to change station in the middle of the trip, even for the most expensive trains. Is there a train I can take without changing a station? Thanks in advance.

Probably not but I would go to the Trenitalia to confirm but it appears that you have done that. Changing trains is very common especially for places like Pompei that are not on a main or direct line between major cities. Changing trains is pretty simply and you can schedule fairly close -- 15/20 minutes.

when I change trains, do I need to buy another ticket? or the original ticket will cover for whatever trains that may fit for my destination?

Hattie, you take a direct train from Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale, then change to the Circumvesuviana for the short trip (40 min or so) from Naples to Pompeii. The C'vesuviana is not part of the Trenitalia system so you need to buy your tickets at Naples. It runs frequently and no reservations are required (or even available.) There is no direct train from Rome to Pompeii.
