Train from Rome to Padua

We are flying in to Rome on a Saturday morning and will be going straight to Padua. Can anyone give me advice on what train to take, how many changes we’d have to make between Rome and Padua, and where to go online to check train schedules? Thanks in advance.

There are detailed schedules online. Note that there are two intercity train companies (Italo and Trenitalia.) Trenitalia runs the most trains. I just rode that train from the opposite end, and I believe you’re pretty much looking at one line that runs from Rome, Florence, Bologna to Padua (and on to Venice.)

Bahn.com works good too for checking schedules.

In most circumstances you will need to change at Roma Termini or Roma Tiburtina.
There are two trains however headed to Venice (stopping also in Padova) which depart from the airport and require no changes (at 9:08 and 15:08). They will be listed in the timetable above.
