Hi there, i am wanting to travel on the high speed train from Roma Termini to Naples but when I went on the italiarail website i saw there are a number of options for "napoli". Is "napoli centrale" the station that I would want? Ultimately, we need to get to the Naples Airport so if there is a closer train station then i would prefer that. Thanks in advance!!
Napoli Centrale.
Right outside of the train station are places where buses park. Go straight out...past the taxi...maybe about 100 to 200 yards and look for the Alibus.
The Alibus is a direct bus to the airport. It seems like it 10 or 12 euros.
Be careful, right outside the train station, there are a ton of pick pockets. Watch your luggage and keep it close.
but when I went on the italiarail website...
Karen, use the Trenitalia website. That's the site for Italy's national rail service.
Additionally, take a look at Italo? That's a private rail service but offers competitive rates to major Italian cities.
And yes, Napoli Centrale (Napoli C.le on Italo) is the station you want.
Do you have a preference between Italo and Trenitalio?
Go with schedule and price. Very little difference. Running on the same tracks.
Ditto to Frank's reply: go with price and schedule.
No need to book 1st class on either train service: 2nd class is plenty good enough.
And it's Trenitalia, not Trenitalio:
To reach the Alibus, exit the train station. Turn left. Go to the light at the cross street. Go thru the piazza to the next cross street. Turn right. Cross into the bus depot. It's a 10 minute walk. Ticket windows on the left. Time to the airport 15 min. Cost E 3,00.
Make sure you get on the correct bus.
