Train from Rome to Florence or Venice

I'm looking at train schedules and the ONLY train that seems to depart Rome for Florence or Venice leaves at 19:04. Am I doing something wrong, or is that in fact the only train each day?

Yes,
are you using www.trenitalia.com ?
Trains from Rome Florence (Roma to Firenze SM Novella) are about 30 minutes apart and 1'30" duration

If you tried this this afternoon, the trenitalia web page clock defaults to the time (in Italy, 5 hours ahead) you input your information. Change the time before you hit "Search" to whatever is convenient for your departure.

What date are you looking at? There are 55 high-speed trains a day that go from Roma-Termini to Firenze-Santa Maria Novella. If you look out too far, you won't see them. I'm looking out to July 24 and I can see them. I can also see the extremely nice 19Euro non-refundable fares. I can see the runs out farther than 120 days but you can't buy the tickets beyond 120 days out.

Yeah, you just need to change the departure time before you hit Search. Easy mistake to make.

OK - I see all of this at treinitalia - thanks.

I was looking at both the bahn site and the eurail site - any reason why they do not show up here?

Ron,

Don't use the Eurail site as they typically only provide limited information. Also, you'll need to specify the proper station names (Roma Termini, Firenze Santa Maria Novella, Venezia Santa Lucia) when you're searching. The bahn.de site should show much the same information as the Trenitalia site. There are numerous departures each day, so you should have no problem travelling at whichever time is most convenient.

You could also use the competing Italo high speed trains, but note that they use different stations in some cases. If you want to keep it simple, use Trenitalia.
