Hi friends,
I will be arriving at the Rome airport in the late afternoon on a Monday coming up soon. A couple of friends are arriving an hour or so later (about 5:30pm). Given the time that it will take us to go through customs, I have heard that we may miss that last train to Orvieto from both Rome and the airport train station. Could anyone enlighten me on this? I would greatly appreciate advise.
You can check the Trenitaly site for schedules from FCO to Orvieto. I just did a quick search and found a bunch of times that probably would work for a 5:30pm arrival. If the 5:30pm flight is on time, I can't see your friends getting out of customs any later than 7PM. Nate, you will first take the Leonardo Express from the airport to the Rome Termini train station. At Rome Termini, you will change to another local train to Orvieto. You will not be late for any trains for the times you describe. The last train out of the airport is a 8:57pm.
