We are looking to take the train from Orvieto to Naples (change in Rome) on June 13th. The train schedule has been available up to one week before we want to travel but shows no route for June 13th. Should we buy our tickets now from Roma Termini to Naples and then hope the schedule stays the same from Orvieto to Rome?

That is what I would do. Make sure it is a midday train, so if there is some variation in the schedule, you will be able to get a morning train from Orvieto to Roma Termini.

There is very little change in the time schedule from one period to another -- sometimes just a matter of a few minutes. Where are seeing the available ticket? You should stay with trenitalia or italotreno. Anything else is probably a travel agency.

The regional and IC trains from Orvieto to Rome are not up yet for June 13.

I looked at the Thursday before (6/6) to see what the possible times could look like on 6/13.
