I'm trying to find a train schedule from Orvieto to Florence on the Trenitalia website, but after entering the locations, I get an "Invalid Departure Station" message. I've seen enough discussion about taking a Regionale train from there to know that you can do this, but I'm stumped. Is it possible that only Italo trains run from Orvieto?

It works for me. As you enter the first letters of the name, the name will pop up. Just click on it. Also choose a date in the next 7 days as the schedules for regional trains are loaded weekly only.
Don't forget that Florence is Firenze.

Roberto is correct.
Remember that there is no advantage in buying Regionale train tickets in advance and as Roberto alluded to, you can only purchase these tickets 7 days in advance.
Italo do not stop at Orvieto, just a couple of Inter City trains and several Regionale. The service is every hour or two.
