I'm so confused. I need help getting from Nice to Vernazza on June 24. I've been looking at www.raileurope.com and it just doesn't seem right. I spoke with the apartment owner in Vernazza and he said that I should take the 15:53 train to Vernazza, but I don't see that option anywhere. Can someone please help me book this? Thanks!

Rail Europe is not your friend! Its timetables are incomplete because it only shows timetables for trains for which it sells tickets and it doesn't show timetables for routes like Nice-Vernazza that require mutiple connections.
Besides the Italian Rail site to which Steve gave a link, you can get detailed timetables on the German Rail site. After you get summary timetables for Nice Ville-Vernazza, click on the arrow to the left of the departure time(s) of your choice to see the connecting points.
Leave Nice Ville at 15:53; connect in Monaco, Ventimiglia, and Genova Piazza Principe; and arrive in Vernazza at 21:52.
There is no advantage to buying these tickets in advance so just buy them in Nice. Be sure to validate them in the station machines when you first depart and as you make your connections.

Wow! Thanks so much for your help! That's the schedule that the guy mentioned, I just couldn't figure out how he got it. I'll give it a shot.
