Train from Naples to Fiumicino Airport

Is is safe time wise to plan to go from Naples to Fiumicino airport on the same day as my flight out? I wouldn't want to risk missing my flight to Madrid, but it doesn't leave until 15:05.

I wouldn't risk it even with a later flight. Trains can always be late and you wouldn't want to risk missing your flight. If you do decide to stay in Naples be sure to leave early just to give yourself a cushion in case things do go wrong. You'll need to go to the rome termini and take the express train from there. Ya, things can go wrong but I would do it. At that time of day you should be at the airport by 13:00 which means an arrival in Termini by noon. Caught an early train around 8 and you should be fine.

Joan, I'm with Frank on this one - with a 15:05 departure, I'd give it a try. I'd probably leave Naples about 09:00 and allow at least three hours for the trip from Napoli Centrale to FCO, which includes "waiting and walking time" as well as the 35-minute trip on the Leonardo Express. However, it would be a good idea to check a few days before you make the trip, to see if there are any planned Scioperi on the day you'll be travelling. If there IS going to be some kind of disruption, at least you'll have some time to work out a "backup plan". Happy travels!
