I plan to take a train from Monterosso Al Mare to Naples, then a ferry to Capri.
I have found Trenitalia Intercity with 17 stops and it takes the total hours of 7 from Monterosso Al Mare to Napoli Central, and from here I will get to Naples ferry to Capri.
Please advise me the best way to make this journey
That looks like the only direct train from Monterosso to Naples and departs at 5:28 am. You could save about 1 hour, by getting off that train at Pisa and changing to a Frecciabianca to Rome, then changing to a Frecciarosso to Naples. That is about the fastest way. Costs a little more, so it is up to you. There is no food service on the IC train, so be sure to pack snacks and drinks for the trip.
Most of the time saved on the 2 change route is because the Frecciarosso uses dedicated high speed tracks between Rome and Naples. The IC train does not stop at Rome Termini, but at Rome Ostiense.
I see from your other thread that this trip is planned for September 2023. There could be significant schedule changes between now and then, so take another look this next year.
pack good shoes for a hike along the sea side. it costs extra, but the view and trail is beautiful. you need enough water! also if you do swim stops, plan more than 2 days.
In Riomaggiore is my favorite place for jumping into the water (from a cliff). In the same city go to the higher places to have food. in the bay is also a place with nice drinks (Dau Cila). Climb the stairs on the left side of the bay (and get some pizza to go) to see there the sunset and have some snacks.
