Is there a train from Milan to Lierna? Or what's the best way to get from Milan Airport to Lierna?
Go to: http://www.trenitalia.com the british flag in the upper corner to get the english version. The schedule only gives you prices for trains for the next seven days, so pick a day of the week that is the same as the one you'll be traveling on. You'll buy your ticket at the train station. Don't worry about buying it ahead of time, the trains don't sell out. It's not like an airplane ticket. You'll take the Malpensa Express from MXP to the main Milan Train Station. From there you can get catch a train to Lierna. There seems to be a train about every hour in the afternoon. Ciao
Looking at the above message, I'm not sure that the Malpensa Express goes to Milan Centrale. The Malpensa Express is a separate train system that does go from the airport to the Cardona train station. It is operated by LeNord and not Trenitalia. There is indeed a new train run from Malpensa Airport to Milan Centrale operated by Trenitalia but I'm not sure that it is part of the Malpensa Express system. Either train run can be seen on the Trenitalia website.
I'm sorry, I meant the shuttle. http://www.malpensashuttle.it/e-default.htm This drops you right at the Milan Central train station.
Thank you so much. These are very helpful tips.
