I want to book a train from Lucca to Rome but not sure if there is more than one train station in Lucca. Can someone tell me if there is more than one and if so, which train station is best to use? Thank you!
The main train station is just outside the city wall on the south side of town. On the Trenitalia trip planner, it is simply "Lucca".
Hello Joey & Marie, and welcome to the forum!
You'll probably want the Frecciarossa fast train from Florence to Rome. The train from Lucca to Florence may change at either Pisa or Viareggio but this is easy and don't sweat it. Trenitalia will book all these connections through for you from their website and the fast train options will be clear from the time differences. But you can also check the trip details by expanding the ticket view. Fast trains have assigned seating.
Use the Italian names like Firenze and Roma on the https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html train website for best results. Trenitalia also has an app that will let you check schedules, buy tickets and track trains.
Have a great trip,

Thank you for the responses!
Look on the Trenitalia site.
Put in Lucca to Roma Termini.
(NOT Bagni di Lucca…that is a different town to Lucca!)
The trains will take about 3 to 4 hours to complete the trip, and you will change trains in Pisa or Florence.
Try to book a trip with about 15 minutes or more to change to the second train, as I think you are not familiar with trains in Italy.
Some of the trips I saw had a 6 minute change time, so try and avoid those.
It can be done, but you don’t want to be rushing.
