What is the best way to train from Levanto to Rome - June 14th
Go to Trenitalia so you can see all of the options yourself. Click on the English flag at the top of the page. To see ALL of your options, put in a date just a few days from now - but within a week's time. Part of your trip is on regional trains, and they don't show up on the website schedules more than a week out...(compare this to using your actual date of June 14; now you see only one train...)
Jane, The method I'd use on that route would be to take the Regionale (local C.T. train) from Levanto to La Spezia Centrale, and then transfer to the fast train to Rome. This is the quickest trip on June 14th (total time 3H:58M): > Depart Levanto @ 12:35 > Arrive La Spezia Centrale @ 12:57 > Depart La Spezia @ 13:07 > Arrive Roma Termini @ 16:28 The first train is a Regionale (DON'T forget to validate) and the second is a Frecciabianca (fast) train (reservations compulsory, which will be provided with the ticket). Fares for that trip (subject to change of course) are €6.50 for the Regionale and €29 for the Freccia train (Mini fare) or €36.50 (Base fare). There are numerous other trains to choose from, but travel times and changes will vary. Have a look at www.trenitalia.com for further details. Happy travels!
Jane, Thanks for posting this question. We are traveling from Levanto to Rome as well - just a few days later on June 24. So many questions...so little time! Safe travels,
