My wife and I will be doing this in April and wondering if anyone has recent experience. Transfer times in Genoa and Ventimiglia are 19mins and 44mins respectively. Just wondering how big the stations are and how easy to find our way around to change trains.
Unless there are substantial delays on your arrival trains that is plenty of time to make the train change. You need to know the train number and the last destination of that train (which is probably Ventimiglia and Nice Ville in your case), then check the displays and go to that “binario” (track)
Ventimiglia is not a big station and a 19 minute change is fine and a 44 minute change the problem will most likely be boredom.
with 44 minutes in Ventimiglia you will have plenty of time to get from one train to the next, either on the next platform or the same track. You have enough time to go up into the station and enjoy a plate of Soca - welcome to Nice and the Riviera - at the little cafe in the station, then go out the front and look down the hill towards the Med. Wander back and wait for your train. It may have a destination of Nice Ville, or it might be Cannes.
