Train from Florence to Pisa

Hello,

I am planning to travel to Pisa from Florence for a day trip on Sunday June 9.
I know that the train from Florence to Pisa only takes about 1 hour.
However, searching on trenitalia website returns only 1 train at 2104 and italirail website returns trains with 5 hours journey time.

How can I do a day trip on Sunday June 9?

Thank you in advanced.

I think the summer schedule isn't loaded yet into Trenitalia's system.

Look at trains on June 2 to see what the schedule is likely to be for the 9th.

Not sure where you are looking, there is nearly a train every 30 minuties -- all Regionale with a couple of exceptions -- and taking about 1 hour. I just checked the schedule five minutes ago. Since these are Regionale trains with no seat reservation - just get on and go - you should purchase your ticket at the station. Purchasing on-line adds additional restrictions on the ticket. There is no advantage to purchasing on-line as the price never changes and the train never sell out.

Frank, check the Trenitalia website for June 9. That's where I looked. No trains. Clearly the schedule isn't loaded yet. Probably about the same as June 2.

Addendum about regional trains: don't forget to validate your paper ticket before getting on the train! Otherwise, you risk a steep fine for being caught on the train with an unvalidated ticket.

Check it for any Sunday in May. The schedule after June will be nearly identical since there are rarely any changes from one schedule period to another. Maybe a few minutes change here and there but not wholesale changes. Regionale train schedules are the last to be uploaded. So there is no concern that there will be dozen of trains running on June 9th. And don't buy ticket till you get there. The return is the same.
