I will be traveling to Italy in about a week and a half and I am so confused trying to figure out the train schedule from Florence to Cinque Terre and back. I went to the Trenitalia web site but was still pretty confused. The main thing I need to know is if the train runs on Sundays, I am not buying a ticket until I get there but I just want to have an idea of the schedules and such...any help would be greatly appreciated!

They run about every 90 minutes. Keep going west until you get to the end of the line at La Spezia. Take the local northbound and you will be there in about 15 minutes. Have a great trip!

You should be able to look at the trenitalia site for this. It runs on Sundays and takes about 3 hours. I think you do have to change trains in La Spezia. I am happy to help if you cant locate it quickly.

From my viewing, the Trenitalia site shows 14 trains per day on Sunday, 3 April, between Florence and La Spezia....some direct, some requiring a transfer at Pisa....all take around 2.5 hours. You won't have any problems jumping on one of them.

I've been having difficulty with this also. Trenitalia doesn't seem to list the "local" part of this connection..from La Spezia to Vernazza, for example. Anyone have specifics on this part?
