Does anyone know if there is a train from Como that would go to Freiburg Germany? Or do I need to go to out of Milan?

According to the timetables at www.bahn.de, you have several route choices. If you book well in advance on the DB site, you can get a Europa-Spezial Italien fare of 39€ specifically for the Como-Chiasso-Basel-Freiburg route.
