Is there an easy way of getting to Orvieto by train from the port of Civitavecchia without going through Roma Termini?
Not by train. They all go through termini where you will have to change trains. The trip will take about 2.5 hours.

Thanks, Donna. Another question. We will be in Civitavecchia for one day (port stop) and would like to go to somewhere other than Rome (been there five times). Is there anywhere we can go by train? Do we have to rent a car? Any small town or city accessible by train would do. Or, does anyone know of an interesting part of Rome which is not filled with tourists?
Have you been to Ostia Antica? It is a wonderful place to spend the day. Very relaxing. You could also try Viterbo or Orvieto, both are about 2.5 hours away connecting through Rome.

Thanks again. So much to see...so much to do!
Two weeks ago my husband and I left from Civitavecchia train station and went directly north to La Spezia. We did not have to stop at Termini first. We then caught a regional train to Cinque Terre which I would highly recommend if you have two days to spend there.
can anyone tell me what the train code is for civitavecchia?
