We are visiting Florence but flying home from the Rome airport (FCO). We plan to take the train to the airport. Three questions:
1. I've seen advice on this forum not to purchase train tickets in advance for flights arriving at the Rome airport in case the flight is delayed. I assume it's fine to purchase in advance for flights leaving from Rome airport. Several posters have said it's cheaper to buy in advance, so that was my plan.
2. There aren't many direct trains from Florence to the Rome airport. Most connect at the main Rome station. Are connections easy, or is there an advantage to taking a direct train?
3. If we miss the train connection, would our tickets be accepted for the next train to the airport?
Thanks for your advice,
Jessica
