Train connection in Orte

Hello

Has anyone made a train connection in Orte en route from Rome to Chiusi? The train timetable indicates that the connection is only 8 minutes. Is this doable for seniors with luggage?

Thanks for your help.

First question, with all the direct Rome-Chiusi trains, why did you pick one of the few itineraries that require a connection? Can't you leave a little earlier or a little later and get a direct routing?

Orte station has 2 platform islands with a track on either side, plus the station side track. Your train to Chiusi originates at Orte so it will be waiting there to make the connection. The train you are on from Rome is continuing on to Ancona, so you should have all your luggage with you and be standing by the doorway as the train pulls into Orte so you can exit the train as soon as it stops. You may luck out and find your connecting train is waiting across the platform on the other track, but more likely you will have to go down a stairway to the tunnel and walk about 30 ft to the stairway up to the connecting platform. 8 minutes should be OK if you can move expeditiously, if slowly to your connection.
