Train & bus tickets - any need to buy well in advance (July 2018)?

i realize they are sometimes relatively cheaper, but other than that is there any benefit?

probably a better idea to go with the flow and not pigeonhole yourself into strict timelines, no?

for reference the trains i'll need are:

Rome --> Florence on arrival day (don't plan on buying due to uncertainly of landing, customs, etc.)

Florence --> Siena (bus - tickets needed in advance?)

Chiusi --> Salerno

Salerno --> Rome

thanks all!

Only the Chiusu-Salerno and Salerno-Rome tickets should be bought well in advance in order to save money.
Chiusi-Salerno can be as low as 26.85 EUR 4 months from now vs 60.95 EUR bought day of travel.
