We are arriving by train in Siena and picking up a car. How would we get a taxi from the train station to take us to the car rental? Is there a taxi stand at the station? We will also need a taxi to the train station when we drop our car off in Siena. Do you think the rental agency rep would call a taxi for us.? Thank you
I was able to easily get a taxi when I arrived at the Siena train station (and I was very jetlagged since I flew from the U.S. to Rome so it was a long day) to go to my hotel. I would imagine that you won't have any issues getting a taxi. There must have been a taxi stand there at the station, as I didn't call a taxi.
In the image below, the building on the left is the front of the station building, on the right, across the street from the station building, you can see several white taxicabs lined up where it says TAXI.
I am sure the rental agency will call a taxi for you to get back to train station
We have never been refused this service
When i arrived at the Siena train station (from Termini) on my 2022 trip, I headed straight to the taxi line. I had asked my hotel contact ahead of time the price i should expect (~10 to 15E). I waited in a 30 minute line. As the taxi driver loaded my luggage in the trunk, I asked the fee for the trip to my Del Campo area hotel. He said 50E and cash only (which I didn't have with me at the moment). His version of "Demand" pricing, i guess. I took my luggage out and headed to the bus stop. Google maps showed the exact route and stop for me (Main bus station). I hope that your taxi experience is better than mine. In Rome, I had no issues and credit cards were happily accepted.
Getting a taxi at the Siena train station was super easy! We waited no time - there were a couple cars waiting there as we walked out. When we left Siena, our small hotel called a cab for us and we waited no longer than 15 min. for it to arrive. People are really kind, happy to help and my bet is that the car place, like our hotel, make calls for cabs routinely. Enjoy!!
