train and museum tickets

I just want to be sure I am doing the right thing. I am traveling by train from Venice to Florence and Florence to Rome. I want to purchase my tickets now. I read a lot of these topics and it says to purchase now. Since I am getting reserved seats, I don't need to validate before boarding the train. Is that correct? And do you advise to get the tickets now. Our trip is in three weeks.

And the second question is I know I want to go to the Accademia and Uffizi Gallery in Florence. I plan on purchasing the Firenze Card when I arrive in Florence. And if we have time to see other sites covered by the card, we can. Good? I know it's not the cheapest way, but I can't confirm times.

Rome, should I purchase tickets now for the Colisseum, Vatican Museum, and whatever sites we want to see or purchase them on location. If now, could someone recommend a site for that online. If someone has an awesome tour group for the Colisseum that they highly recommend, I'd love to know.

We're not spending a lot of time in any one location, so this is really a visit to see a bit and come back again (my second time).

Thank you in advance. JOAN

You can get tickets now if you know exactly what train you want to travel on. There are still some SuperEconomy tickets available, and they are nonrefundable train-specific and not changeable. They are about half price of the base (walk-up) fares. Economy tickets, are about 10 EUR less than price price and can be exchanged before departure by paying the price difference to the base fare.

Use Trainline,eu for your tickets. They are an agent for both Trenitalia and Italo, so you can easily decide which one suits you best. They offer the same tickets as the train companies, including the discounted ones, and have no extra fees.

I'm pretty sure that you are correct on this assumption. Our trip is next month so I'm not an expert on train ticket validation.

I've also read that train tickets (regional) purchased from the app don't need to be validated.... (can someone here confirm this?)

Yes, you absolutely should purchase tickets before you go. If you wait until you get there, you'll be stuck in very, very long tickets lines.

We've not personally felt we've needed tours in Rome but two very highly-regarded companies which come up many times on the forum, both offering tours of the Colosseum (also in conjunction with the Forum and Palatine) are:
