We are planning on traveling to Riccione, Italy June 2012 and would like to know about train travel either from Rome or Milan and then travel from Riccione to Venice and Venice to Salerno

To get schedules at an easy to use site, try bahn.de. It is the Germany site but carries all of the European train schedule. If you want to buy tickets ahead of time, then use trenitalia.com. You can also use them for schedules but will need the Italian spelling for those stations.

You can use the trenitalia site for train travel information in Italy. Just enter dates within the next week to see all trains available. You won't be able to buy train tickets for June anytime soon but you'll be able to get a good idea of schedule and price. They usually do a schedule and price change in December and June so you won't be able to buy until at least the one in December is done depending on your travel dates in June. Donna
