track phones or the like

Wondering about buying a couple of track phones once we land in Venice, mostly to ease my mind just in case our daughter would get separated from us....does anyone know if these devices are readily available at airport, train station or local shops? Any other suggestions would be welcome

I recently received my global phone from verizon. they "rent" it to you and the cost is simply the roaming fee. $5 for the month and you can use it for $0.99 a minute. $0.05/incoming txt and $0.50/outgoing txt.
This is only good for less than a month.
Ppl back in the states can call you by simply dialing your US number and they don't pay an international fee.
Caller ID works so you don't have to answer it if you don't want.
It was the best plan out there. I might end up spending $20 on calls.
If, when I get over to Italy, there is a better, wiser way to do this, I will, and i will only be out $5, or I'll call and cancel it all together.
