Towns near Naples?

We are traveling to Italy in a few weeks. We are staying in Naples for a night or two, but then we have about 3 nights/4 days before going back to Rome. Does anyone have any suggestions for some cool little towns maybe an hour or two from Naples? I have been to the Amalfi coast, so I'm looking for something a little more off the beaten path.

Grazie

Gaeta is a wonderful town about 2 hours north of Naples on the coast. Driving anywhere in the area is a challenge, but we drove to Rome from Baia Domizia on the coastal highway and it was beautiful.

Paestum has wonderful Greek ruins and is south of Salerno on the coast. Although that's going in the opposite direction, if you have not been there it's well worth the trip south.

I suggest you take a look at the town of Pompeii. Many people don't realize that there is a town, not just the old town of ruins. It is a nice little town, cute town square facing the church. Some good restaurants, just don't eat at Mimi's, we went there because the menu looked good and because of the name. It was awful! Hotel Amleto is nice, good price, friendly and helpful service. We walked to the ruins and then spent a nice evening in town.
Have a great trip!
