Town on the Amalfi Coast

Coming from Salerno there is a beautiful small town with a great beach that is either Maiori or Minori. Does anyone know which it is? It has a beautiful waterfront and would be a great place to stop for lunch. Can anyone tell me which one has the great beach and maybe a recommendation for a good lunch place??

Both towns have a beach. The beach at Maiori is considerably larger. The two towns are right next to each other. Don't know if this answers your question.

Thanks Tom!! The one that I am thinking about has a park like appearance and the road is just barely above the beach. Is that Maiori?

Your description could fit either town, although I think you're thinking of Maiori. In any case, the towns are almost adjacent, so you could wait til you get there and take your pick.

The google earth maps feature might help - you'll be able to look at the beaches and town locations.

Joyce, From your description, it's Maiori. We just stayed there for 4 nights at Hotel Torre di Milo. Fantastic hotel, and a really great town to stay in. We loved the fact that there are very few tourists here. We ended up getting pizza to go (port a via) and eating it on benches on the boardwalk. 6 Euro pizzas cooked the Neopolitan way in a wood oven. Fantastic!! Cheers!
