Does anyone have recommendations for an overnight stay in Como? I’m flying from the US to Milan Malpensa, and figured I’d go directly to Como for a night rather than going all the way to Bellagio the same day. That way, I can rest up and get over jet lag.
Never been to Como. Any suggestions for hotels and fun things to do for a day?

Train from Malpensa to Como
I would suggest taking the Malpensa Express train to Saronno. From there you can change to a regional train to Como Lago station on the Como waterfront. There are hotels nearby from budget to 5-star elegance (and expense). Next day, take a fast boat to Bellagio from the nearby dock.
You might think about taking the funicular to Brunate to enjoy the view.

I second the funicular. The little town at the top is spectacular, and there's even a hotel up there you might consider.
