We will be staying at LaChiusa for 2-3 nights and thinking about possibly seeing Pompeii.
Rather than driving there, are there guided tours of the area that would make more sense?
Thank you!

This is where you're staying, correct?

It's a long way from Pompeii; I personally wouldn't think about doing this one as a day trip unless it's from Rome, and by rail versus road. Because of the distance,I wouldn't think tours would be available from Chiusi (but am happy to be proven wrong!). As well, 2 nights = only 1 full day at the inn. Even with 3 nights /2 full days are you sure you wouldn't want to explore closer to "home" + enjoy the inn's amenities? It looks lovely, BTW. :O)
A quick look at Google Maps shows that it is 400 km to Pompeii. That's 4 hours ( no stops for gas or other breaks) one way. Or over 6 1/2 hours by train one way. Not something most people would do as a day trip. Even going from Rome is a very long day.
I don’t see how this is remotely possible
You could consider a visit to Ostia Antica from Rome
Needs about a half day. Easy train ride from Rome
Closed on Monday
See what you think
Gets good reviews here as a substitute for Pompeii

It’s near FCO so you might be able to work it in if you return car to FCO and stay near airport your last night
Seems I didn't do my homework!!!
I'm really looking forward to LaChiusa - so will see if we can make it 3 nights.
My husband is more about history....but this looks so lovely. I'm sure there is historical places to visit nearby.
Thank you!
We always stop here when in the Val d’Orcia
