Tours of Tuscany area from Florence

We are hoping to schedule a tour of Siena , San Gimignano & Monteriggioni... hopefully NOT. For 10-12 hrs. Can anyone recommend a specific tour and / or a company to contact? We were browsing Trip Advisor but need to be sure before booking... any advice at all would be appreciated!
Thank you
Anne

We took TWO tours with WalkAboutFlorence - the BEST OF TUSCANY TOUR and the CHIANTI WINE & FOOD SAFARI tour - they were BOTH fantastic. We discovered WalkAboutFlorence on TripAdvisor, but went to the WalkAboutFlorence website to book to avoid 3rd parties like Viator.

Hello AnnieM,

Perhaps this may interest to you - check out The Roman Guy https://theromanguy.com/tours/italy/florence-tuscany/chianti-wine-tour-from-florence

From their website - "Travel from Florence to a family-owned Tuscany farmhouse with a stop in the medieval town of San Gimignano. Explore the craft of winemaking with the vineyard's owners, then taste the region's best wines that complement world-class Italian food."

Look at Walks Of Italy - https://www.walksofitaly.com/blog/florence/day-trip-from-florence-fiesole (as a possible consideration or alternate day trip)

This Walks of Italy tour includes Siena and San Gimignano https://www.walksofitaly.com/florence-tours/tuscany-day-trips-from-florence/

The above tour companies get very good to excellent reviews.

Other good tour companies to consider are:

Dark Rome https://darkrome.com/florence-tours/pisa-siena-full-day-from-florence (Includes Siena and San Gimignano)

Through Eternity https://www.througheternity.com/en/florence-tours/tuscany-day-trip-from-florence.html (Includes Siena and San Gimignano)

Have fun!

China Lake 67 & Girasole,
Thanks so much for the prompt replies. We had never heard of any other tour co. other than TripAdvisor! I appreciate the past experience & advice. I’ll be doing more research tomorrow. I’ll post when we decide which tours we decide to join. Looking forward to the Medieval aspect as well.☺️
Thank you Anne

I also did the WalkAboutFlorence "Best of Tuscany" one-day tour that went to Siena, San Gimignano, lunch at a vineyard, and Pisa. It was a great tour, wonderful guide, well-paced, covered a lot of ground but didn't feel hurried. Yes, it lasted 11 hours (winter time) but the blend of bus time, guided tour time, lunch time, and free time in each location made for a perfect day. Highly recommend. It's possible to book it through Viator but we booked directly through the WalkAboutFlorence website.

"We had never heard of any other tour co. other than TripAdvisor!"

TripAdvisor is not actually a tour company. Neither is Viator. They just re-sell tours from other companies. Thus, it's best to go directly with the company themselves, so you can avoid the middle-man. You've been given some good lists of companies to check out, and Rick's book may have others.

I really enjoyed our tour with Prestige Rent. My friends and I took this tour in March of 2018 and had a great time.

Siena, San Gimignano and the Tuscan countryside
Explore the beautiful medieval city of Siena on a guided walking tour
Admire the interior of the magnificent Cathedral
Enjoy a typical Tuscan lunch, accompanied by excellent wines, at a family-owned estate
Conclude your day relaxing in hilltop San Gimignano
Small group ensures a more intimate experience
The meeting point is PIAZZALE MONTELUNGO BUS TERMINAL (the bus terminal of the Florence SMN train station).

I liked this company so much that I booked a private driving tour with my husband in October 2018
