Tours-Italian Ports of call

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I should choose to go on an excursion in Naples or Florence? Which one would be most worth my while. I heard I could take a train and bus to Sorrento from Naples and then go to the amalfi coast. I am wondering if that is going to be a tight schedule for one day and if it is easy. Or if I should get Bevenuto Limo to take us around. I would also like to see FLorence and maybe some country side in Tusacny but I am wondering if that will be too jammed packed and if I should get the excursion? So uncertain

The advantage to ship excursions is the no brainer aspect. You show up and they have done the work. If you wan to do it on your own that requires a fairly amount of homework and planning. We have been on several cruises in that area always had good experience with our own planning. But you have to determine train and bus schedules, local transportation to and from terminals, what to see and do, A third alternative is to hired local guides or drivers. Goggle the port and you will find lots of ads for private drivers/guides.

Maria We took the tour out to Pompei while in Naples from our cruise company. We loved it as it was a small group and the guide was very good. Also as the traffic in Naples is horrendous we were glad we were on the tour. We got stuck in it on the way back. The ship was held for us. You don't have that guarantee with a do it yourself. We have been on many, many cruises all over. We have seen and heard the staff looking for people that didn't check back in. We have also seem people after we have pulled away from the dock running and getting left behind. Is is really worth the worry.
Take the tour.
