Tours in Tuscany with two kids and one non-drinker

Hi all!!
I've posted in here before and you were all so helpful! So, thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.

My family and I (2 adults, 2 kids - 10 and 12 years old) are travelling to Florence in April 2026. We will be there on a Monday so I'm planning a trip to the Tuscan hills for one day (museums will be closed). Based on previous advice, we are not getting a car, BUT seeing the hills is a dream of mine. My husband does not drink and my kids obviously won't need wine, so wineries should not be the main attraction. We'd be fine with maybe one winery, but overall, we're more interested in a cooking class or demonstration of some sort.

So... does anyone have any recommendations for us? We've already spoken with Tours by Roberto, who have availability. We would do the Chianti tour. I'd really like some other options though. Thoughts?? Thanks again!

Well, you didn't say if they are boys or girls, so here is our experiences taking 5 GS's on 4 trips. First of all, they were all 11 or 12 when we did this, and we made them tell US what they thought they wanted to do, and so that we had some "buy-in." Also, we had them wear NFL Patriot hats (or hats of who they followed in sports) so we could keep track of them.
In all cases, museums were a waste after 1 hour, however climbing the Duomo (racing ahead of us and kind of on their own) was one of the highlights of the trip, along with rubbing up with guys their own ages, playing soccer, eating Gelato, and cart food. Be aware that their bodies don't adapt as fast as yours, and they were hungry on their schedule not yours-the market in Florence was super for food they wanted to eat-order a Porchetta sandwich there, it's "Guy" food in capitol letters. You can have a lot of fun if you keep a loose tether.

I don't know the age limits, but my friend and I signed up to do a bike tour in the countryside which included San Gimignano and Siena! It POURED, so we skipped the biking, but we did go to a winery for about 30 min (I don't like wine either) and then another TINY hill town instead. If it doesn't thunderstorm, a bike tour might work for everyone!

Cooking classes yes! I know that some agriturismos do them, but the problem would be to get there.....there are also ones in Florence, but that doesn't get you hills :( I read on here somewhere of an agriturismo JUST outside Florence that has delicious food and a class I think! I just can't remember the name!
