We went with benvenuto limo. We did cities in Italy with them. Each driver was very informative and so pleasant. What I like is that they show you around, give you facts and history and give you free time to walk around and do as you wish. It was a great experience

If you are looking for a company in Florence that does day trip/tours in Tuscany take a look at Slow Days. They do wine tours/food tours/castle tours etc but only covering the region of Tuscany. You'll have to inquire about private tours but I assume they do them too.

I second Faith's Slow Days recommendation for a wonderful day in the Tuscan countryside. Wine, lunch, incredible views, and intelligent, interesting conversation with Simon. I wish I were there again right now!
