tours in Rome?

We will be in Rome for 3 days and want to see the Colosseum and the Vatican museum, St Peters .
Would it be better for us to arrange a tour for these sites and if so which tour company would be recommended?

connie,

You may want to delete your duplicate thread on this topic, so that all replies are in the same place.

For tours in Rome, I'd highly recommend Francesca Caruso. She's an outstanding guide, but it's a good idea as she's often booked solid.

I prefer live tour guides because you can ask questions and get answers. We were very pleased with Angel Tours.

This has been discussed many times before. I, and many others, have been delighted with Walks of Italy for tours in Rome and the Vatican. Small groups, individual headsets, and extremely knowledgeable guides. For the Vatican we did their Pristine Sistine tour which brings you into the Vatican Museums including the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's before the official opening and the crowds. They also get great reviews on Trip Advisor.

Both the Vatican and the colosseum offer their own tours, which are wonderful. You can visit their websites to book:

The Vatican allows you to book about 60 days ahead of time. There are several different tours to choose from. The underground tour for the colosseum is sold out through September and October/November dates haven't been released yet. Just keep checking the site.
